Facebook-sorry if I offend you

When I first joined facebook, I was excited.  I was able to stay in touch with relatives and friends that are long distance.  It was a way of keeping in touch and getting to see pictures of each others' families.

I'm glad that there are people that still post pictures or fill you in on what is going on in their lives, MY REASON for having my account.  I enjoy reading blogs by certain people, and following certain groups. It is great for homeschool referencing, as well as other ideas you may not come up with on your own.

I think we need to rethink the way we use the information that is so freely available...thank goodness most of the comics that show up from other people are inspirational, some of the items are good for a laugh, however some can be offensive to others.  It is our responsibility to use caution when we post things that are of questionable material.

What may be funny or normal to one, maybe be very wrong for another.
Sure, you can just not look at the thing, but what if it is the first thing that pops up,
you can't control that unless you block on a regular basis.

For those that I have offended, I am sorry.
I have 5 beautiful children that I
will protect as much
as I can!
It is what
God would
want and
expect!

A day out for the clan

This morning, I took Brian to work in order to
take Toodlehead to the ENT for an
overdue check up.

All went well, all the children were very good.

Princess even managed to get a few smiles out of an
elderly gentleman, then a grand smile from a woman
who reminisced on her days as a young girl
with two older brothers.

Toodlehead has one tube out and the other is on the way
out, so he needs to go back in four months...hoping that will
be it for him!

While getting ready to leave, a woman sitting with her husband (they came in while we were in
the exam room) looked at them and naturally,
  I got the normal question:

"Are they all yours?"

Usually this annoys me...today was different. I looked at my 5 little ones getting bundled up,
looked at the woman and smiled then proudly said,
"Yes, they are."

There are days when we are home and they are wild as can be, but when I take them out,
I can almost always be sure they will be on their best behavior.

I really needed this day out to help me always remember that God
chose Brian and me to be the parents of his wonderful children.

What an honor it is,
Thank you God!

A COLD WINTER'S DAY!

Woke up this morning to a beautiful sight,
white flakes coming down gently
from the sky.
Normally this would not make me happy
however this morning was different.

I saw God's had in the beauty of the white,
His pureness we can only read about, and
hope to know one day when we are
with Him in Heaven.

first snow of the season 2012

Doodle bug and Monkey man went out to shovel two sidewalks today
and did so without complaint. They were happy to be able to be
helpful to mommy and daddy.
What a joy seeing such good traits in children so young,
the work ethic needs to be taught at home so they
know what is expected of them and what will NOT be
accepted.
Better for them to learn in the safety of their parents
unconditional love than out there in the
world
They will be corrected with love and kindness
the way the Lord would want.  They will be shown their
mistakes without being made to feel foolish.
I pray that our children will continue to grow in
God's love and want to remain pure in heart
the way God would want them to be!

I am thankful for being able to be here to help
our children grow and learn,
and here's hoping you can enjoy your children
during the early years!
Thank you God for showing me the pureness and
sweetness of this snowfall!

Weekend is for family time!

As we are coming to the end of the week, I can only say thank goodness.
It has been a long week, with many trials.  I am learning to take these trials that God is giving us
Chocolate World 2012
and seeing or trying to see the good in them.
Having said that, I am truly looking forward to having
family time!

We will spend our Friday evening being together in the house, maybe
doing different things in different rooms, but in the same building.

Only time will tell what Saturday will bring for our family to do.
If there is snow and it isn't too cold, maybe a sledding trip
or playing outside.
It could be a trip to Cabelas or Chocolate World, or just
staying home and playing games-time will tell!

Sunday is a special day for us. We will go to the Traditional Latin Mass in
Girardville. On that day, we will celebrate with Father Connolly the fact
that he recently celebrated a birthday AND Sunday is our
anniversary.
The boys are looking forward to a cake to celebrate their parents,
and I'm looking forward to celebrating a bit myself, nothing big,
just a cake but that is fine with me!
Christmas 2010, In love

So, as I sign off the blog today, please say a special pray for Father Connolly to
have many more happy years, and for Brian and I as we celebrate our marriage.

I will pray for you all that you have a wonderful weekend and find time
for some
FAMILY TIME
time of your own
trust me, you'll enjoy it.

God Bless,
Marie

Who loves Dunkin' but hates the price?

I know I love to enjoy a cup of coffee, hot chocolate or tea made by someone else.
BUT, when you know that there are many other things that need to be taken care of, these types of pleasures are not always able to be given into.
Instead of getting discouraged about it, I have decided it was God telling me that I can do more than I ever dreamed. I didn't dwell on what I can't have, but looked at what I CAN have.

Want a Carmel Salted Hot Chocolate, you can have it, want a flavored coffee? You can have it and not feel bad about spending large amounts of money.

At Ollie's I found flavored syrups, caramel, hazelnut and vanilla only 99 cents each...you normally have coffee, or hot chocolate mix, and sea salt, right?

Well, go for it....pour a bit of the syrup into your coffee or hot chocolate, add a touch of sea salt, maybe some marshmallows or a candy cane. You have your own gourmet hot drink!

Nothing like snuggling up with the little ones or in a big blanket with your favorite book and hot drink to warm you on a cold winter's night!

Hope this inspires you to think INSIDE the house instead of buying into the trendy things of the world!

And now, I think it's time for a cup of special hot chocolate!

Stay at Home Mamma

Let me introduce myself to you and give you a bit of my information.

I'm a stay at home mother of 6 children, ages 22 to 1 1/2 years old, 5 boys and 1 girl. Husband is the bread winner naturally, and I'm proud that he is a man that is so stable and good to our family.  We are homeschooling 3 children, one in 2nd grade (Doodlebug), one in Kindergarten (Monkeyman) and doing a bit of preschool with another (Pooh Bear). The two youngest (Tootlehead and Princess) are not school age yet, but certainly do try. We attend a MOMS group and 2 library programs as well as AWANA and many other fun things. The eldest (Mr.Fixit) is attending school for HVAC and works part time.

So, a window was opened for me to try something new. Don't really know how well this will go or if I'll even continue, but we will see.

Some days run smoothly, other days not so, but it is all part of being a mom, the calling God has given me!

I am hoping you will follow me on our crazy journey, maybe learn some new things, or be inspired!

God bless!

Marie
